This is the Waimakariri River, just south of Arthur’s Pass, Canterbury, New Zealand. Visible is the Bealey Bridge which carries State Highway 73 across the river. It is based on a photo I took many years ago in May 1982. The area is known locally by the nickname ‘Klondike Corner’.
